Janie Goodson

Janie Maurine Goodson, age 89 of Brandon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. from Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Burial will follow in Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

She was born in Scott County, MS to the late Edward O. Pruiett and Lillie Belle Pruiett on August 20, 1932.

Maurine was a member of Brandon Baptist Church. She loved to cook, gardening, working in her yard, and quilting.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Odis Franklin Goodson; sister, Quaye Porter; and her granddaughter, Terri Melissa Rushing.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Curt) Rushing; grandchildren, Donna (Bill) Grant, Amy (Allen) Worral, Lauren (Brad) Dorman, and Chase Rushing; great grandchildren, Mallory (Josh) LaFontaine, Joshua (Cassey) Rushing, and Maggie Mills; great-great grandchildren, Scarlett Belle Dorman, Judah Calvin Dorman, Gideon Stone Dorman, Charlie Jeagher LaFontaine, Ruby June LaFontaine, Rachel Suzanne LaFontaine, Sampson Rushing, and Memphis Rushing; sister, Faye Gray; nephew, Kevin Lee Gray; niece, Lawana (Steve) Ainsworth, great niece, Ada (Phillip) Sawin; great-great niece, Quaye Sawin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
