Janice Faye Walker

Janice Faye Walker, born on May 18, 1949, in Corinth, MS, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Ridgeland, MS. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Janice was known for her beautiful spirit, both inside and out. Throughout her life, she demonstrated unwavering independence and strength. For many years, she dedicated herself to her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), touching the lives of those she cared for with kindness and compassion.

Janice had a passion for playing Yatzy everyday and was affectionately known as the Yatzy queen among her family and friends. Her love for this game brought joy and laughter to many gatherings.

She leaves behind a large and loving family. Janice is survived by her daughters, Terri Brister, Regina Beavers, and Melissa MacNeill and Angela Anthony(Kenny Carter) ; and her son, Jimmy Anthony; She cherished her grandchildren, Erika Haddakin. Daphne Burt, Jennifer Brister, Cedric Mallet, Brianna MacNeill, Rory MacNeill, Jasmine Cook, and Jimmy Anthony Jr., along with Heather Anthony whom she raised as her own children: . Janice was also the proud grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her niece, Cindy Bass, and nephew, Shannon Mattingly, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and many friends, also mourn her loss.

Janice is preceded in death by her father, Sherman Walker; her mother, Alta Mae Vanderford Walker Carter; and an infant son, Dewayne Anthony.

Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, on July 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on July 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on July 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Fannin Methodist Cemetery. 

Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
