David Weeks, age 76, a resident of Morton passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at his home.  Visitation will be held 5-8pm Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Chapel services will be held at 11am Thursday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens.  Bro. Bill Prestage will officate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

David was born in Laurel, MS on November 19, 1946.  He loved to hunt, especially turkey hunting and fishing.  David was a avid football fan.  He was dedicated to the Morton Panthers and loved the New Orleans Saints.  David and his wife, Shelia loved to travel and going to the mountains was a favorite spot for them to enjoy.  He loved his family very much and his children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye.  After he retired he and his wife, Shelia watched many western movies together.  David will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents,  Darrel F. Weeks and Johnnie Ruth Gibson Weeks Weaver; brother, Freddy Weeks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Weeks of Morton; children, David Michael Weeks (Erica) of Crystal Springs and Sharon Kay Dukes (Kerry) of Brandon; 6 grandchildren, Lorna Phillips (Christian), Branden Weeks (Alexis), Caleigh Weeks (Hunter), Paige Wilson, Ethan Wilson (Abby) and Noah Dukes; 1 great grandchild, Josie Grace Phillips; sisters-in-law, Shirley & Lester Beatty and Peggy Weeks; brother-in-law, Sonny & Joan Garland; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Branden Weeks, Ethan Wilson, Noah Dukes, Hunter Hamilton, Cole Garland and Taylor Ivy.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Morton Panther Football team or the Athletic Department.
