James Ryan Pace age 44, a resident of Pelahatchie was called to his heavenly home on November 25, 2023 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Friday, December 1, 2023 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9am-10:30am Saturday at the funeral home. Chapel service will be held 11am Saturday, December 2, 2023 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Thornhill Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Bradley will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Ryan was born at UMC in Jackson, MS on January 23, 1979 to Jerome and Elizabeth Bray Pace. He grew up in Pelahatchie and attended Pelahatchie High School. He went to work with Impala Oil Company. He worked for Tubb Equipment hauling heavy equipment. Once his health became his main focus, a double lung transplant, he was retired for several years. He then drove again.
Ryan was preceded in death by is dad, Jerome; brother, Jason and grandparents, David and Agnes Pace and Marguerite Bray.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bray Pace; sister, Cathy (Glenn) of Milledgeville, GA; Madison (Logan) of Lawrenceville, GA; Keaton of Marietta, GA; Hallie (Taylor) of Marietta, GA; Aunt Reba (Mel) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; James Thomas Pace (Sandee) of Barlow, MS; niece, Patricia Carol Pace of Lena, MS; Uncle William (Sandy) Bray of Waco, TX; Billy (Carol) Bray of Amory, MS; Carla (Bob) of Roswell, GA; Donna Bray of Texas; Paula of Waco, Texas; special friend, Kim Sandford and sons, Cody Reed and Hunter Reed; nephew and niece, Austin and Emma Stevens who was the light of his life-they looked up to Ryan as their dad; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Scoggins, Daniel Stevens, Derrick Scoggins, Luke King, Seth Jones, Travis Jordan and Cody Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be in honor of deceased brother, Jason Pace, Jerry Wallace, Johnie Conn, James T. Pace and Eddie Stokes.
Ryan was a hard worker and fought so hard to live.
