James Loper

James Clyde Loper, age 87, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at his home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Loper was born November 11, 1935, in Conehatta, MS, to O.Z. Loper and Claudia Mae Loper.  He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years at Yellow Freight before retiring. He proudly served his country in the US Marines. He was a member of Fannin United Methodist Church. Mr. Loper enjoyed working hard for his family, drag racing, coon hunting, vacationing with his family. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Loper was preceded in death by his parents, O.Z. Loper and Claudia Mae Loper, and his brothers, Paul, Tony, and Harry Loper.

Mr. Loper is survived by his children, Marilyn Bishop (Ricky), Tommy Loper (Dawn), Johnny Loper, and Steve Loper; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
