JC Culliver, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away November 9, 2024, at Edgewood Nursing and Rehab in Byram, MS. He was born on November 6, 1925, in Mize, MS.
JC lived a life full of service and dedication. He entered the Army in 1944, serving in Europe with the 35th Infantry Division during World War II. During his stint in the army, he served on the President Harry Truman's Honor Guard. After the war, he returned to Mize where he continued his commitment to family and hard work. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and soon after, in 1954, married Thelma Ruth Clark, the love of his life. They celebrated an incredible 70 years of marriage on October 30, 2024.
Professionally, JC worked in insurance sales and also for the City of Jackson Water Dept. He touched many lives with his approach to business and personal connections.
JC was known for his kindness and gentle spirit and will be missed by his loving wife, Thelma Ruth Clark Culliver; daughters Rita Lewis and her husband Don, Janet Miller and her husband Jonathan, Judy Miron and her husband Phil; son Keith Culliver and his wife Suzanne; grandchildren Laurel Greenberg and Daniel, Justin Lewis and Kristine, DJ Miller, Matthew Miller and partner Corinne, Brittany Kennedy and Josh, Jarrod Miron and Taylor, and Jacob Culliver; as well as great-grandchildren Austin Routledge, Tristen Routledge, Ethan Greenberg, Declan Lewis, Charlotte Lewis, Collin Kennedy, Brooks Miron, and James Miron.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, MS, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Park Place Baptist Church Building Fund.
JC Culliver’s legacy of love and service will continue through his family and friends, who will always remember his kind-hearted nature and dedication to those he loved.
