Homer Creighton (Creig) Chancellor, 67, was born October 13, 1942 in Brandon, Mississippi and left us to spend eternity with Jesus on Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. He left us finishing the race his Lord laid out for him strong and passionately. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1960 and Mississippi State University in 1964. While a student at Mississippi State, Creig married his surviving wife of 48 years, Carol Rhodes Chancellor. He is also survived by his three daughters and son-in-law, Yvonne Pittman of Brandon, Sheryl Chancellor of Jacksonville, Florida, and Angela and Dave Herbert of Brandon, as well as his three grandchildren, Deanna Chancellor, Chance and Landon Herbert, all of Brandon. The death of his parents and sister precede his death.

Mr. Chancellor was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, the Brandon-Jackson camp of Gideons International and Pelahatchie Masonic Lodge No. 276. He is remembered as a true family man and a hero to his family and friends. Many people remember Creig for his sweet spirit and unfailing encouragement, especially his daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to Gideons International or the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
