Hiram Lee McGowan, 88, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab. Visitation is 10 am Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Brandon. Services are 12 noon Wednesday at the church with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Kile will officiate. We ask that CDC guidelines be followed.
Mr. McGowan was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County. He was a faithful member and usher at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Brandon. Mr. McGowan was a retired truck driver with over 4,000,000 miles logged without an accident. He also loved to deer hunt and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Rayburn McGowan; daughters, Janet Tullis (Al) of Bastrop, LA and Sindy Collins (Jeffery) of Long Beach; granddaughter, Lane Orr(Michael) and grandson, Heath Orr(Rachel); sister, Carol Joyce Bryant of Orange, TX; brothers in law and sisters in law, Lamar and Barbara Henson of Star and David and Linda Rayburn of Louisville; his pastor and wife, Rev. David and Lisa Kile and family. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and wonderful church family. Mr. McGowan was preceded in death by his son, Joh-el Lee McGowan in 2020.
Pallbearers are Christopher Kile, Jesse Kile, Gabby Atkinson, Tim Myers, Dale Rose and Fernando Sanchez.
