Helen C. Reeves, 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Brandon Nursing and Rehab. Services are 10am Friday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with interment in Clifton Cemetery in Scott County. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reeves was born in Scott County to William Richard Coward and Jettie Lee Kuhn Coward. She married the love of her life, Shelby Lavaughn (Shorty) Reeves in 1946 and they moved to Brandon in 1953. She worked in furniture sales and interior decorations at Harrel’s Furniture and Thompson’s Furniture. Helen loved to work in her yard and she was a Charter Member of Brandon Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby (Shorty) Reeves; parents; and sisters, Mary Dee Harrell and Lucille Hall.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra R. (Joe) Morehead and Diane R. (Roger) Thornton; granddaughters, Debbie Jo (Denver) Dickens and Christie M. (Paul) Frasier; great grandchildren, Shelby D. (Chad) Wicker, Robert A. (Kaitlyn) Dickens, Jacob M. Frasier, and Catherine Delaney Frasier; great- great grandson, Reeves M. Wicker; step grandchildren, Bradley (Misty) Thornton, Chad Thornton, Michele Valentine; step great grandchildren, Grayson Hovas, Tyler Alford and Sadie Thornton.
