Helen Brown Ray

Helen Brown Ray, of Pearl, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in Jackson at the age of 88.

Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A second visitation will be on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm in the chapel. Graveside services and burial will immediately follow in Florence Cemetery.

Mrs. Ray was born July 25, 1937, in Magee, Mississippi, to Ance Brown and Ollie Walker Brown. She later married Clyde Theo Ray, and together they had one child, Jason. She worked as an operator for Bellsouth Telephone Company until her retirement, and she was a very active member of her church, Brandon Baptist Church. She loved attending church as well as being involved in church functions.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ray, and her siblings, Della Yelverton, Mazie Stewart, Olla Herrington, George Brown, and Maurice Brown.

Survivors include her son, Jason Ray (Brandi); grandson, Brandon Ray; sister, Hazel Minter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
