Harold Curtis “Pete” Thompson, 77, a resident of Pelahatchie died Monday, August 22, 2011 at home. Graveside services were held 10 am Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Gulde Cemetery in Pelahatchie. Visitation was held 6-8 pm Wednesday and 9-9:45 am Thursday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Rev. Mike Whelan officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Rankin Co. and was the son of Sidney and Virginia Thompson. He work worked many years for Marquett Cement Company. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Mr. Thompson loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Virginia Thompson, wife, Margaret Christine Thompson, brother, Sidney Thompson, Jr., and sister, Catherine Stout.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his children, Hal Thompson (Toni) of Meridian, Vickie Caves (Bob) of Brandon, Amy Datusch (Bryon) of Meridian, Jerry Lyle (Vickie) of Mendenhall, Dale Lyle (Melody) of Wood River, IL and Tommy Lyle of Brandon; sister, Ellen T. Purvis (Jerry) of Brandon; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
