Gwendolyn Maydale Linton

Gwendol Maydale Linton, born on May 1, 1934, in Jones County, MS, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Brandon, MS. She built a fulfilling career as a manager in the crafts department at Walmart before her well-earned retirement.

Gwendolyn was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Linton of Auburn, AL, and Terry Linton of Hattiesburg, MS. Also cherishing her memory are her cousins, Betty Knight and Dorothy Morrison. Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her mother, Paula Matthews, and her brother, James Matthews.

A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS, on Monday, March 16, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM. She will be missed by all who knew her.
