Mr. Grady Keith Allen, 77, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away on Fri. Sept. 2, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Mr. Allen was born on Jan. 11, 1945 in Madden, MS to the late Grady Lee Allen and Ruby Eatmon Allen. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Allen; daughter, Sheila Allen and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Allen is also preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Thomas and Annie Rhea Langford and two brothers, Leroy Allen and A.C. Allen.

The family received friends for visitation at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 from 8:30am until 10:45am, with the memorial service in the chapel at 11am. He was laid to rest at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Grove, MS. Pallbearers were Jimmy Allen, David Thomas, Donald Thomas, Hunter Ramsey, Garrett Ramsey, Ray Ables, Don Duncan and Marcus Mitchell.

Keith grew up in Leake County fishing, hunting and working with his family. He married the love of his life in 1965 and they spent the next 57 years together, with most of that time in Rankin County. Keith became a business man and had several businesses in Rankin County, including Allen's Meat Market in Pearl, A & A Southern Smoked Meats in Pearl, Pelahatchie and Brandon, as well as a catfish farm, cattle farm, dump truck and storage business a few miles outside of Brandon. He was well known for his smoked sausage and catfish farm. He enjoyed raising cows and spending time with his friends at the cattle auction in Forest, MS, as well as driving his tractors and his 4-wheeler. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, including teaching some of his nephews and nieces to hunt and fish when they were young. Keith always cherished the time and memories he spent with his family and friends.
