Gloria Cooper

Gloria Joyce Ragan Cooper was embraced into the eternal arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 17, 2022.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 7:00pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and again on Wednesday from 9:00am until 9:45am.

She was born November 19, 1931, in Pelahatchie MS. and was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Harmon Ragan, Sr. and Oneida Dotson Ragan and brothers Alfred Harmon Ragan, Jr. and Billy Ray Ragan.  Gloria was united in holy matrimony to Atley James (AJ) Cooper on January 12, 1954 on the Bride and Groom Show on CBS.  AJ passed away in 1991, and Gloria later married William  (Sonny) Thompson of Morton who preceded her in death.

Cherishing memories of Gloria’s life are her loving and dedicated daughter, Jane Cooper Drago and son-in-law Joseph Drago, grandsons Paul, Mark, (Brandy), and Joey (Haley),  great-grandchildren Elijah, Elayna, and Ethan, and her nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Gloria was a faithful longtime member of Pelahatchie Baptist Church, who moved her membership to Meadow Grove Baptist in Brandon and then Ellisville Baptist in St. Louis, while living in those areas.

Gloria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother: a true Southern lady.  We will forever be grateful for her unconditional love and generosity.  She leaves a legacy of faith and commitment that will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
