George J. Tullos
June 30, 1933 – January 2, 2026
George J. Tullos, 92, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on January 2, 2026.
George was born June 30, 1933, in Magee, Mississippi, to Byron and Minnie Tullos. At the age of 17, he entered the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years.
Following his military service, George married Ruby Bridges Tullos, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was happiest when surrounded by family and especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to his loved ones will be fondly remembered.
George was known for his lighthearted humor and wit. After doctor visits, he was often heard saying, “If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself,” and, “The doctor said I was in pretty good shape for the shape I’m in.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Minnie Tullos; brothers, Lavell Tullos, Vernon Tullos, Miles Tullos, and Larry Tullos; and sister, Peggy Bullard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Bridges Tullos; son, Mike Tullos (Dolly); grandchildren, Nikki Raney (David) and Justin Tullos (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Miriam Raney, Lydia Raney, Brielle Raney, and Graham Tullos; brother, James Tullos (Ann); sister-in-law, Sue Tullos; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. An additional visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
