George Ray Sanders

George Ray Sanders, of Brandon, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 86.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am in Crestview Memorial Gardens. 

Mr. Sanders was born on October 18, 1938, in Jackson, Mississippi, to George Robert Sanders and Johnnie Lewis Sanders. He worked as a bookkeeper for E.K. Strahan for many years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant from the Marine Corps Reserve after 26 years of service. He was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl. He loved his Lord, his wife, and his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Johnnie Sanders; wife, Shirley Dearman Sanders; son, Robin Sanders; and sister, Louise Sebren.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Sanders (Judy), Shelia Gressett, Tony Sanders (Sandy), and Shane Sanders; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
