Garland Myrick McNeil, was born in the Pineville community, Smith County, Mississippi, at the family homeplace, January 10, 1952, to his parents Son and Rhoda Myrick McNeil. He passed away at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, November 1, 2020 at the age of 68.
A retired truck driver, who held a strong work ethic and had favoritism toward the Peterbilt Motor Trucking Company, known for providing quality machinery, Mr. McNeil, was happy living the simple life; favorite hobbies included woodworking and carpentry; gardening and cooking. Garland McNeil will be remembered as a hardworking, thoughtful, kindhearted, sweet man who loved his family, in particularly his grandchildren. He will be missed and his legacy will continue for the generations he leaves behind.
His parents precede him in death as well as two brothers: Thomas McNeil and Burlon McNeil.
Survivors include his wife of thirty three years: Mrs. Patsy May McNeil; two daughters: Stacey Boyd and Brandi Westberry; one step son: Billy Hicks, Jr.; four grandchildren; two sisters: Faye (Dwight) Bostick and Sue Langford; one brother: Carey McNeil; two sisters-in-law: Sandy McNeil and Darlene McNeil; numerous nieces and nephews.
