Frankie “Jean” Worthy McReynolds, 87, of Brandon, MS entered her heavenly home on Mon. July 22, 2024.
Jean was born on October 13, 1936, to Frank and Marie Worthy. She attended Brandon High School. She married the love of her life, B. A. McReynolds, Jr. in 1960 and they shared 48 years together. They had 2 daughters, Sheila and Shea. She was a homemaker for many years until her entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, and she, along with her two best friends opened “Friends & Company”, a tea room in downtown Brandon. Jean was a long-time member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church where she played an active role in the youth ministry in the 80’s.
Jean was an avid collector of all things that had a story to tell. She had an eye for finding the most unique and beautiful treasures. Along with “junking”, she enjoyed entertaining, cooking, flowers and gardening, and making others feel special in word and deed. But her most valued treasures were her 5 grandchildren and 9 great grands. Her pride in each of them was evident in everything she said and did. They were the loves of her heart.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, B.A. McReynolds, Jr., her parents Frank and Marie Worthy and her granddaughter, Maggie Bennett Ingram.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Martin (Ross) and Shea Ingram (Tony). She is also survived by her loving sister, Shirley Linebarier. She is survived by her 5 precious grandchildren, Tori Martin, Carlye Hopkins (Drew), Taylor Doleys (Nick), Gray Ingram (Kenzie), Sam Ingram and great grandchildren, Emma Hopkins, Bryleigh Whitney, Ady Whitney, Tucker Hopkins, Brantley Ingram, Jaxon Little, Asher Mack Ingram, Baylor Stokes and Morgan Ingram.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff with Traditions Hospice, The Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center, and the numerous physicians who poured into momma their knowledge, expertise and care during the last three years. A very special thank you to Ms. Charlene Gardner, momma’s loving caregiver for this past year. She made sure that momma had the very best attention and care, and for that we are so grateful.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS at 2pm with visitation at 1pm. Burial to follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Steve Wilson, of Meadow Grove Baptist Church will be officiating.
