Mary Frances Parker McCleland, 66, of Brandon passed away on August 13, 2025 at UMMC. There will be a viewing on August 16 from 5-6.
She was the center of her family, one everyone could count on. As a wife, she shared a deep bond with her husband built on love and trust. As a mother, she guided her daughter with care, encouragement and always called her the light of her life. She treasured her role as a Mimi, delighting in every visit, hug, laugh and was always in the front row cheering the loudest at baseball games. As a sister, she was a steady presence, always ready to listen and share in life’s moments. She absolutely treasured her best friend Fran whom she always called a sister by choice. Her greatest joy was being with the people she loved, and her memory will live on in their hearts. There will never be another like her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Andrew Parker and Mary Bell Johnson Parker; and an infant sister. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve McCleland; her daughter, Merribeth Parker (Tamara); a step daughter, Laurel Norris (Brad); two sisters, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Thompson (Rodney); and Bobbie Lenell Glenn (Warren); and three grandchildren, Aiden Parker, Lincoln Ethridge, and Henley.
