Faydelle G. Martin, 89, passed away Thurs. Aug. 26, 2010 at Live Oaks of Slidell, LA. Visitation will be held Sat. Aug. 28, 2010 from 1pm.-2:30pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services are 3pm. Sat. Aug. 28, 2010 at the Ross Cemetery in Rankin County, MS.
Mrs. Martin was born in Hernando, MS and was a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA. She had one of the first Dental Hygienist Licenses in the state of Louisiana. Mrs. Martin was active in the Methodist Church, CPA Wives Club, League of Women Voters, Ladies Leukemia League, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. She also volunteered with the Crosby Arboretum and loved gardening as well.
She is survived by her three children, Phillip Martin of New Orleans, LA, Dennis Martin of Carriere, MS and Terrell Martin of Baton Rouge, LA; five grandchildren, Colleen Frommeyer, Brett Martin, Jesse Martin, Jack Martin, and Sam Martin; four great-grandchildren, David Ducorbier Jr., Andrew Martin, Meghan Martin, and Emily Martin and her brother, Robert W. Grist of Chicago, IL. Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Martin and one brother, William H. Grist Jr.
