Ethel Murrah Watson, 62, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Miss. Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 5-8 pm today at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A memorial service will be held 3 pm Friday, April 9, 2010 at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon. Rev. John Moore will officiate.
Mrs. Watson was a native of Raymond and a longtime resident of the Jackson area and was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church. She worked in banking for 42 years and was currently serving as Vice President of Community Bank on Old Canton Road in Jackson. Mrs. Watson was very involved in community affairs representing Community Bank and also involved in numerous charitable organizations including the American Lung Association and American Cancer Society. She was a previous member of the Lions Club in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Watson of Brandon; daughters, Beth Ann Wann and husband Matt of Brandon and Leigh Anna Watson of New York City, New York; sisters, Linda Barnes of Morton, Clara Melton of Karnack, TX, Joy Sumrall of Morton and Chris Dobszewicz of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Lee Murrah of Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossgates United Methodist Church, 23 Crossgates Drive, Brandon, MS 39042 or the American Lung Association, P. O. Box 2178, Ridgeland, MS 39158.
