Ruth "Rose" Neal Weems

Ruth “Rose” Neal Weems, 85, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the chapel at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon at 3:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Morton Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Weems was born on March 19, 1939, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Gordon D. Neal and Winnie C. Buchanan Neal. She attended Draughon’s Business College in Jackson. She married Charles “Pete” Weems and was given by him the nickname many knew her by: Rosebud, or, to some, just Rose. Together, they lived in Ludlow, Mississippi and she and Pete had one daughter, Charlotte.

After the loss of her husband, she moved to the metro Jackson area in 1975, where she resided until her passing. She enjoyed gardening, birds and bingo. She was a member of Ludlow Baptist Church.

Mrs. Weems is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Pete” Weems; parents, Gordan D. Neal and Winnie C. Buchanan Neal; sister, Mary Elizabeth Norton; and brothers, Bennie Neal, James Neal, and Jerry Neal. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Christopher; grandchildren, Sevryn Sears (Chad), Chelsea Christopher, and Colin Christopher; great grandchildren, Bayleigh Sears, Tayler Sears Williams (Brian), and Spencer Sears; great great grandchildren, Titus, Stone, and Haven Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
