Ella Faye Melton Sledge

Mrs. Ella Faye Melton Sledge, age 82, a resident of Morton passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Lackey Memorial Hospital.  Her visitation will be held 9am-11am Monday, July 22, 2024 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Chapel service will be held 11am Monday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial at Sims Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Andrew Griffin will officate the services.  Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Sledge family.

Mrs. Sledge was born in Oxford, MS on March 5, 1942.  She loved flowers, especially red roses.  Ella Faye had many bird feeders outside her window at the nursing home.  Some of her favorite things to do was go shopping and out to eat.  She loved her dog, Tiny very much.  Her family was the world to her.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Gene Sledge; parents, Thurman Melton and Clara Odell Melton; siblings, Freddie Melton, JD Melton, Bobby Melton, Mary Melton, Ruth Crockrell and a infant brother.

She is survived by her 3 children, Charlie Sledge of Morton, Sheila Waggoner (Wilbur) of Morton and Jerry Sledge of Morton; brother, Paul Melton; 7 grandchildren, Crystal Griffin (Andrew), Guy Sledge (Hollis), Ashlie Sledge, Kimberly Sledge, Adam Waggoner (Shay), Brandon Sledge and Shelby Sledge; 1 great grandson, Aaron Griffin; and furbaby, Tiny.

Pallbearers will be Guy Sledge, Brandon Sledge, Roger Dale Shoemaker, Billy Gene Steadman and Robert Ramage.  Honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Griffin.
