Elizabeth Sibley

Elizabeth Sibley, age 90, of Morton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Saint Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Born December 18, 1934, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Elizabeth was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, strength, and devotion left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Sibley; her parents, Ruth and Shelby James; and her son, Kenneth Wayne Sibley. Though her absence leaves a great void, her spirit continues to live on in the lives of her family.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Penny Bridges; her cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Shelby Sibley, Brandy Martinez, Nolan Bridges, Marshall Bridges, and Alana Clark; and her adored great-grandchildren, Tabitha Sibley, Kenneth Wayne Sibley, Madison Sibley, Christopher Bridges, Kiley Bridges, Addison Bridges, Haley Freeman, Emily Freeman, Nick Freeman, Noah Martinez, Layne Clark, and Leyton Clark. She was also blessed with six great-great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy in her later years.
Elizabeth is also survived by her loving sisters, Earlene Fielder and Shirley Mcintyre.
Known for her gentle hands and generous heart, Elizabeth found joy in life’s simple pleasures—quilting with care, tending to her garden with love, and filling her kitchen with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Above all, she loved her family deeply and unconditionally, and her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome.
Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS on September 6th. Visitations begin at 9 AM through 10:30 AM followed by a service at 10:30 AM.
