Elizabeth Hood

Elizabeth Marie Hood, 86, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be from 12pm-1:45 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday October 28, 2019 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.

Mrs. Hood was born September 17, 1933 to J. Y. Reeves and Lillian Ilene Worsham Reeves. She had a servant’s heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was an excellent cook and seamstress using those talents to care for her family and those in need. Most of all she loved God with all her heart and that guided every aspect of her life. She served as organist and Women’s Ministry Leader for years. She reared her children and grandchildren to love God first and to make him the center of their lives. The many nights spent on her knees in prayer for her family has resulted in a legacy of a family who loves and serves God and others, following the example set by Mama and Mamaw. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her parents, J. Y. Reeves and Lillian Ilene Worsham Reeves; step mother, Alice Reeves; 2 sisters, Dorothy Ervin Snellgrove and Eyvone Alilstock; daughter, Patricia Hood Wright and 2 great grandchildren, Bryanna Moxley and Aiden Hall.

Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband, Doy Hood; children, Sharon Wilburn (Bob), Ron Hood (Jan) and Debbie Quimby; son-in-law, Jimmy Wright; brother, Wayne Reeves (Ann); grandchildren, Kristie Rodgers (Terry), Michelle Howard (Mickey), Bradley Wilburn (Shawnna), Michael Wilburn (Bridgette), Alicia Hall (James), Stacy Hood (Terry), Jonathan Hood, Joshua Quimby (Grit) and Brittney Nevels; lifelong best friend, Martha Jones Wynn; 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
