Edgar Prestage, age 91, passed away on October 11, 2022, of Brandon, Mississippi where he has called home for the majority of his life. He was born in Gulde, MS on February 7, 1931, to parents Egbert Barnett Prestage, Sr. and Bessie Fortune Brown.
Edgar was in the United States Army and served from 1951 - 1953. He had a long Career with Mississippi Power and Light to which he retired. He was most at home on his farm and with his family.
Survivors include his Loving and Faithful wife, Dorothy Dean Prestage; two sons, Edgar Earl Prestage, Jr “Buster” (Jana) and John Paul Prestage “Butch” (Pam). Edgar was Lovingly and Playfully known as Pop or Red to everyone that knew him! Pop also left behind his five granddaughters, Amy King (Jerry), Erika Barron (Jason), Rayne Prestage, Tess Tatum (Cody), and Taylor Prestage, and six great grandchildren, Reagan, Waylon, Sawyer, Charlie, Presley, and Addy. Pop never met a stranger and was always willing to help anybody in need. He is now reunited with his late parents and two brothers, Horace Prestage and E.B. Prestage who preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, October 14th, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with another visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow in Andrew Chapel Cemetery.
