Doug Edge

Douglas “Doug” E. Edge, Sr. 83, born on July 22, 1938, in Lipscomb, Alabama passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a devoted follower of the Lord and lived through his heart. He had a love for gardening, German Shepherds (any dog really) and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Lemyeal Mitchell Edge in 1955, his mother, Willie Mae Edge Stewart in 2005, and sister, Sara Janette Par in 2018. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Bowers Edge, son, Doug Edge, Jr. (Jennifer Edge), daughter, Rhonda Moore (Rodney Moore), grandsons, Alex Edge, Brett Moore (Brittney Williams), Kyle Moore (Laura Moore), and 3 great-grandchildren. The God given ability to live through his heart is what made him the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend a person could ask for. He had a servant’s heart and would help everyone.  Through his life he was a basketball star at Jones Valley High School and served our country in the Army. He worked as a sales rep for Brock Candy, Carnation, Jim Dandy (Kiss My Grits), National Sales Manager with D-con, Goldkist Dog Foods and part time after retiring from Pro Performance. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will begin at 1:00 pm with visitation starting at 11:00 am.
