Doris O'Neal High

Doris O’Neal High, 91, passed away on Fri. Nov. 15, 2024, at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. Nov. 18, 2024 from 10am-11:30am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11:30am on Mon. Nov. 18, 2024 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson, MS.

Mrs. High was born on Aug. 27, 1933, in Jackson, MS to the late Emmit O’Neal and Cornelia Furlow O’Neal. She was a former member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS where she taught Sunday School for many years and was currently an active member of Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood, MS. Mrs. High was very active in the Women’s Ministry and the Widows Ministry at both churches. Mrs. High retired as co-owner of Highs Heaters in Brandon, MS after 40 years of service.

Mrs. High is survived by her daughter, Holly Grubbs (Lee); son, Scott High (Jeanie); sister, Sherry Morris; 5 grandchildren, Gracie High, Faith High, John Thomas High, Morgan Grubbs, Emily Grubbs and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. High is also preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar High and her sister, Mary Lynda O’Neal.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Mrs. Gloria Stone for her love, care and support of Mrs. High.
