After graduating from Shaw High School, Don went on to play football for Mississippi Delta Community College. Later, Don completed his education at Delta State where he met the love of his life, LaBon Kolb Vineyard.
After marrying in 1966, Don and LaBon made the Mississippi Delta their home for 25 years. During this time, Don began his long and successful career with New York Life Insurance.
