Donald Ralph Purvis

Donald Ralph Purvis, Sr., 74, of Brandon, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2024.

Mr. Purvis was born December 23, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Brandon High School and the University of Mississippi. He married Sedalia “Dadie” Noland in 1978, and together they had two sons. He worked in the oil and gas industry as a production superintendent.

He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Poppa enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, soccer, perform in Brandon High School band, and martial arts. Don also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and auto racing.

Mr. Purvis was preceded in death by his parents, Watson and Linda Purvis.

Survivors include his wife, Dadie Purvis; sons, D.J. (Leslie) and Ramsey (Erin); grandchildren, Peyton, Trey, Gareth, Emmitt, and Elliott; brother, Watson (Cindy); sister, Missy (Daryl); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Oakdale Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:45 am with the funeral service following at 12:00 pm. Mr. Purvis will be laid to rest in Old Brandon Cemetery.
