Dixie Lofton Simpson, 94, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born with a strong spirit and a generous heart, Dixie was the cherished matriarch of her family- a guiding presence whose wisdom, warmth, and unwavering devotion shaped generations. Known for her remarkable ability to bring people together, she welcomed all to her table, where her exceptional cooking and open-hearted hospitality created countless treasured memories.
A woman of steadfast faith, Dixie was a devoted member of Brandon Baptist Church, where she formed lifelong friendships and found great joy in fellowship.
Dixie dedicated many years of service as a bank teller with Deposit Guaranty and later worked at Rankin County Waste Management. Her work ethic, kindness, and reliability were admired by colleagues and customers alike.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert B. Simpson, and their son, Gregory Alan Simpson (Rhonda Ray) and Son-In-Law, John B. Moore.
She is survived by her children, Brad Simpson (Elizabeth) and Suzanne Moore; her grandchildren, Kathleen Mayfield (Chad), Meghan Martin (Steven), Austin Moore (Courtney), and Chance Moore; and her great-grandchildren, Lennon Martin, Kinsley Moore, Karter Moore, Addie Mayfield, John Cayden Moore, and Molly Reese Mayfield and step-Grandchildren, Jacqueline Tapia, Erika Byrd (Daniel), and Chris Tapia( Jennifer), as well as numerous step great-grandchildren.
Dixie’s legacy is one of strength, love, and family- a life lived with gratitude, grace, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
