Dewitt Talmadge Dickson

Dewitt T. Dickson, 94, peacefully left our world on October 18th, 2024. He was born in Roosevelt, Louisiana on February 19th, 1930 to WD Dickson and Annie Blaylock. He was preceded in death by his parents, WD Dickson and Annie Blaylock; his brother, Wilford Dickson and his daughter, Linda Sue Freeman.

Dewitt is survived by his four children: Dorothy Ann Parker (Wesley), Reba Jo Little (Brad), Mike Dickson and Crystal Ester; his sister, Frances Vassey; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

Dewitt lived a full life. He grew up in Belzoni, MS; spent thirty years in Leesburg, MS and most recently as a resident of MS Care Center of Morton. Professionally, Dewitt excelled as a bricklayer. Dewitt was a simple man, a quiet man, a man of few words; but, he was always present and quick to share a smile. His battle with medical issues over the past few months showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Dewitt stayed strong until the end. 

Services will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS on Tuesday, October 22nd with visitation from 10:00am-12:00am with services following at 12:00pm in the Chapel. Dewitt’s resting place will be at Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MS Care Center of Morton.
