Dennis Black

Dennis W. Black, age 65, a resident of Forest died Friday, January 6, 2023, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be held at 10am Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Eastern Cemetery.  Rev. Kyle Wolf will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 6pm till 8pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest.

Dennis was born on August 29, 1957, to his parents Floyd Black and Vera Richmond Black.  He began work at Sara Lee Bakery when it opened in Forest and continued there as a Maintenance Supervisor until it closed and then he worked for Tyson Foods until his recent retirement.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed visiting his friends;  loved life and lived it to its fullest.  He loved his basset hound and spent time with him whenever he could.  As a father and grandfather (papaw) he will be greatly missed.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Roy Leslie Black.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Thomas Black of Forest, 2 children; David Black (Tasha) of Bay Springs, and Randall Black of Forest, a sister Cheryl Kennedy (Jeff) a brother Chris Black (Crystal), and 2 grandchildren Devon Hodge and Taylor Black; mother, Vera Mae Richmond Black.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are Daniel Kennedy, Jason Holmes, Devon Hodge, Orry Black, Chris Mathis, and Brandon Coulter.
