SERVICES: 11 AM TUESDAY, JULY 6, 2010 AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN BRANDON
VISITATION: 10 AM TUESDAY
David Brooks Elwell, 57, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Visitation will be at 10 am Tuesday at the funeral home.
David was a native of Ohio and a longtime resident of Rankin County and was Methodist. He was a graduate of Mississippi College and was employed as a Staff Safety Representative for Delphi in Clinton. David was instrumental in helping start Crossgates Volunteer Fire Department and was named Firefighter of the Year for Crossgates and the Rankin County Firefighter’s Association in 1987. He was very active in scouting for many years and was an Eagle Scout with six Palms.
David was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Ardyth Kingdon Elwell.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Elwell of Brandon; daughter, Elizabeth Greenwood and husband Mark of Brandon; son, Brian Thomas Elwell of Brandon; step-daughter, Lisa Walker and husband John of Opelika, Alabama; step-son, David Fultz and wife Jessica of Wichita, Kansas; sister.
Mary Monroe and husband Tom of Ormond Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Brianna Elwell of Brandon who dearly loved her Papaw Bear.
