Darren Short

Darren Thomas Short, 48, passed away Sat. Dec. 9, 2017 in Scott County, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. Dec. 11, 2017 from 5pm-7pm and on Tues. Dec. 12, 2017 from 10am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Service is at 11am Tues. Dec. 12, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.

Darren was born in Monroe, LA. He was a longtime resident of Jackson, MS and has lived in Brandon, MS since 1999. Darren attended Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, and videoing. Darren was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He was a wonderful and loving family man, who will be greatly missed. Most of all, Darren was a humble servant of God. His favorite motto was “Go Big or Go Home”.

Darren is survived by his wife, Tracy Short; two children, Cole Matthew Short and Halle Elaine Short; father, William Hugh “Bill” Short Sr.; brother, Keith Short and wife Daina; father and mother in law, Eddie Hal Richardson and Donita June Richardson; sisters in law, Kimberly Elaine Wier and Ashley Dawn Richardson; nephews, Adam Short and Cameron Short; nieces, Katie Short, Courtney Barrios, Ashley Pate and several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Louise Short and a brother, William Hugh Short Jr.
