Dahra Martin

Dahra “Dot” Faulkner Martin, age 92, a resident of Cato, MS passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 17, at Salem Cemetery in Cato, MS.

Mother was born April 16, 1928 in Longview, MS to Thornton Faulkner and Clara Sneed Faulkner Nichols. Mother was a proud graduate of The “W.” In 1950, she married Rupert Francis Martin. Mother was a very active member of Cato Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and worked with the Sr. Adults for many years. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed serving others by being part of the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and the Extension Homemakers Club. She loved her family very much and enjoyed the time spent with them.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Francis Martin; parents, Thornton Faulkner and Clara Sneed Faulkner Nichols; sisters, Ophelia Brown and Martha Goggans, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Lynda Martin (Bo) Callender, Ken (Sandy) Martin, Kay (Jerry) Patrick, Randy (Leah) Martin and Lisa (Woody) Rials; grandchildren, Chad (Lesley) Callender, Carla (Wayne) Dearman, Brent (Shelby) Martin, Brad (Hope) Martin, Keicia (Kenneth) Wells, Korbett (Stephanie) Patrick, Kaylee (Casey) Gardner, Molly Martin, Shelby Martin, Brennan Rials, Brodie Rials and Brax Rials; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of longtime friends
