Clytice Gardner

Clytice Robertson Gardner, age 90, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at her home in Brandon, Mississippi. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Harmonia Cemetery in Sallis, Mississippi.

Mrs. Gardner was a native of Sallis, Mississippi, Attala County. She was born January 13, 1932, and graduated from Sallis High School in 1949 as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Holmes Junior College (now Holmes Community College) for one year and after retirement received her bachelor’s degree in history from Millsaps College. She retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company (subsequently AT&T) in 1989 with over 37 years of service, working her way up from grade 1 clerk to the State Benefit Manager at retirement, serving in that capacity for over 21 years. After retirement, she spent the remainder of her life traveling and volunteering with her church and different organizations. She received many awards and certificates of appreciation for her volunteer services.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband of over 67 years, Burnis T. Gardner; her parents, Dave Alton Robertson and Gertrude Henning Robertson; and her two brothers, Murry Robertson and Homer Robertson.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by sister, Dr. Linda Bourgeois; sister-in-law, Pat Robertson; 3 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
