Chuckie, or rather “Chuck” as his family and close friends lovingly called him, was a long standing and upstanding member of the Polkville community, having enjoyed living there most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Johnny Ray Huff and Dorothy Louise Simpson. He is survived by his devoted Daughter: Mandy Huff, Grandson: Grayson Easterling, Sister: Nicole Simpson Buffington (Matthew), as well as loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
After graduating from Raleigh High School, Chuck attended the Jackson College of Ministries in 1980 before marrying his first love Becky Parkman Ross (alongside Sheila Stewart Parkman and Douglas Edward Parkman) at Polkville United Pentecostal Church’s first ever Double Wedding.
He worked locally for a company learning the metal detector and scales sector of the business. Many years later the company closed. Thereafter, Chuck and his best friend and business partner, Edward Pinter, bought the company’s equipment. With their former employers’ blessing, they started their company EC TECH in Brandon, MS. The company is a testament to his self-taught engineering skills, and outstanding work ethic.
When Chuck wasn’t working, he had a great love for all things outdoors. He especially liked the peaceful enjoyment of quiet gardening, as well as the stark contrast of the open road and loud roar of his Harley. But above all, he most enjoyed time spent with his daughter and grandson, as they were truly his whole heart.
Chuckie Ray Huff will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of great integrity. “When you say you’re going to do something, you do it”, and “Your word is your bond” were words often spoken by him. He lived by those words. His integrity, love of family, servants’ heart, and strength of character will forever be his legacy.
