Christopher (Chris) Claude Grimsley, age 63, a resident of Morton, passed away on April 19, 2026, surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Grimsley was born in Smith County on April 3, 1963. He enjoyed spending time with his family, deep sea fishing, Ole Miss football, and back porch sitting watching wildlife. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Claude Grimsley and Clotene (Frith) Grimsley, special aunt Audrey (Frith) Moss; siblings, Arlin Grimsley, Janie Grimsley Smith, and Susie Grimsley Kovall.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jo Ann (Davis) Grimsley; daughters, Caitlin Grimsley and Breana Grimsley; one brother, Darrell Grimsley; 3 grandchildren, Raine Hill, Riley Hill, Brenson Bell, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held April 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:45 PM at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Groveton Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Morton, MS. Bro. Jerry Holmes will officiate under the direction of Ott and Lee Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Connor Blakeney, Keith Clark, Justin Davis, Mark Davis, Butch Lingle, and Robby Wooten.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Grimsley, David White, Lester Guilbeau, Danny Davis, Pete Ruffin and Gene Wood.
The family would like to thank his Two Wire Electric family for their support, Accent Care hospice, Jackson Oncology and Dr. Jeffrey LeDuff for all the great care he received during this time.
