Charles Kern

Charles E. “Charlie” Kern, 69, a resident of Brandon, passed away on Thursday March 30, 2023 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland. He was born to Burton Daniel Kern, Jr. and Mae Ellene (Weems) Kern on August 9, 1953.     He was a gifted, self-taught carpenter, motorcycle enthusiast and ATV mechanic, and could build anything he set his mind to. In his pastime he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. He had a huge personality, a big heart, and to know him was to love him.

He is survived by his sister Brenda (Jeff) Cox of Brandon, twin daughters Shawna (Todd) Vance and Sharon (Hal) Hutson both of Brandon and daughter Laura (Mike) Gallaway of Pensacola, Florida. Grandchildren: Justin Kern, Riley Vance, Colin Vance, Shelby Hutson, Tristan Gallaway, and Raegan Gallaway. Great grandchildren: Cameron Kern, Wylder Kern, and Dallas Kern.
