Charles Perry Everitt was born August 22, 1931, to Charles “Dock” Everitt and Audra Perry Everitt in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Charles “Chuck” moved with his family to the Crossroads community where he grew up with his siblings; Evelyn Everitt-White, Paul Everitt and Ruth Everitt-Gray. Charles graduated Crossroads high school, where Crossroads Baptist Church is now located. Charles is survived by his sister Ruth, his two sons, Robbie Everitt, and Richard Everitt: his daughter-in-law, Stacy Everitt (Richard’s wife), his grandson, Mike Everitt, Mike’s wife, Whitley Everitt, Jill Everitt (Mike’s mother) along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
On January 20, 1951, Charles married the girl he fell in love with, the love of his life, Myneka Everitt. From that union, they had 2 wonderful boys: Robbie and Richard Everitt. Unfortunately, Charles lost his love, Myneka on June 27, 2013. He lived his days with Myneka on his heart. When he visited her gravesite, he placed special selected stones from Alaska, their last trip together.
When Charles graduated high school, he enlisted into the Air Force while the Korean was escalating where he worked for the Pentagon for the NSA, working as the lead role IBM in the data processing.
After leaving the Air Force, a connection he made at IBM placed him as a system manager in Greenville, Mississippi where a new IBM computer was being installed. He worked there several years and again was placed with a new computer system at Deposit Guarantee Bank in Jackson. During his years at Deposit Guarantee, he was promoted to Vice President in the company. Charles retired from Deposit Guarantee as the bank was contemplating mergers.
He began working for First National Bank that rebranded itself as Trustmark. Many of his previous employees from Deposit Guarantee joined Charles at Trustmark where he worked until he retired.
