Mrs. Charlene Champion, age 68, a resident of Lena passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.  Visitation will be held 5-8pm Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10am – 10:45am Friday at the funeral home.  Chapel services will be held 11am Friday, February 10, 2023 from Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with graveside at Morton Memorial Gardens.  Bro. Paul Smith will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Charlene was born in Hinds County on May 17, 1954.  She loved shopping at Walmart and other stores and enjoyed making returns on items she thought she did not need after she got home with them.  Charlene enjoyed making quilts and other sewing in her spare time from shopping.  What she really loved was having the family get together, cooking and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Kennedy and Travis Gould Kennedy; siblings, Elaine Roberts and Jean Fields.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bobby” Champion, Sr. of Lena; children, Tonya Bierman of Morton and Robert “Robbie” Champion, Jr. of Morton; brother, Bobby Charles Kennedy of Polkville; 3 grandchildren, Alex Grace Bierman, Haley Jade Champion and Brody Lane Champion; several nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
