Carolyn Jeanette Wilkins, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be 10:30am Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with her service at 12:00pm.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.   

Mamaw, as she was affectionately known by her family, married the love of her life Wayne (better known as Pop) on December 27, 1956. They recently celebrated their 67^th wedding anniversary.

The most important thing to Mamaw was her family. She loved spending time with her family. In the early years it was spending time with their 3 children, whether attending baseball, football or softball games or volunteering. Then came the grandchildren and oh how she enjoyed following them around to more ball games, but now add in dance recitals, cheerleading and beauty pageants.   

After her retirement she became a dedicated member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church where she would spend hours cooking on Wednesday nights and singing in the choir.  Mamaw also had a green thumb and loved her gardening. She also never met a word search puzzle she couldn’t solve.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Wilkins; sons, Mike Wilkins ( Tina) and Greg Wilkins (Rebel); daughter, Debbie Pettus (Robby); seven grandchildren, Blake Wilkins, Bonnie Carol Quick, Samantha Snell (Jimmy), Kelsey Berry (Jack), Borden Wilkins (Hannah), Brittany Spencer (Jerry), and Brody Wilkins; seven great grandchildren; two nieces, BJ Graham and Charlotte Swearingen; and one nephew, James Thomas.   She is preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah Warren and Dot Thomas; brother, Burton Speed; parents, Jesse Owen Speed and Sallie Mae Winborne Speed.
