Carolyn Fay Carpenter

Our hearts are troubled as Fay Carpenter made the transition to her heavenly home. Fay was a cherished wife, dedicated mother, and caring grandmother. She passed away at home on October 10, 2025, just shy of her 80th birthday.

Born November 19, 1945 to Daniel and Florine Wooley Everett. Fay was raised in White Oak, Mississippi. After moving to Jackson, she married her devoted husband of 55 years, Thomas Carpenter. Together, they raised one daughter in Brandon, where Fay was the anchor of the family.

Fay was primarily a domestic engineer; although, she worked at McRae’s business office in the Kennington building downtown for a number of years. In later years, she worked with interior design, making custom draperies. Fay was an exceptional cook. She was creative in the kitchen, with a Southern flair. Her favorite pass-time was spending time with family and friends, coffee-in-hand.

Fay is proceeded in death by her parents, Daniel and Florine Everett. Her brothers, Thomas, Bill, and Frank Everett. She is survived by her committed husband, Thomas Carpenter; her daughter, Paige Carpenter (Greg); her beloved granddaughter, Amanda Ready (Kevin) whom she helped raise; and grandson Liam Carpenter.

A visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral home in Brandon, MS on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10-11am. The funeral service will be held immediately after in the chapel at 11 am. She will be laid to rest at Conway Cemetery with prayer at the graveside.
