Carol Purvis, age 68, a resident of Morton passed away on Tuesday, April, 23, 2019 at UMC Hospital in Jackson.  A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Morton Church of Christ in Morton, MS.  Bro. Willie Hammack will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Purvis was born in Scott County on November 13, 1950.  She loved collecting miniature statues and ornaments.  Carol loved the holidays because she enjoyed all her family getting together.  Her grandchildren was the apple of her eye and she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her father, John Black of Morton; daughter, Wendi Purvis of Morton; son, John Gilbert "JJ" Purvis, Jr.; grandchildren:  Daigen (Tori) Meek, Macy Hudson, Nicole Purvis, Loren Waggoner; sister, Billie Joan Black; father of her children, John Gilbert Purvis, Sr.

She is preceded in death by, her mother, Gatha Helen Black; biological father, Eugene "Bill" Smith; brothers, Tim, Johnny & Tommy E. Smith.
