Carey Lee Tipper

Carey Lee Tipper, 51, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Jackson, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel.

Born on November 8, 1974, in Tifton, Georgia, Carey was a devoted husband, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He spent 31 years working on the railroad, a career he was proud of, and he was deeply involved in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, where he built lasting friendships and faithfully supported his fellow railroad workers.

Carey loved spending time with his family and friends and truly never met a stranger. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful—jet skiing, in-shore fishing, traveling with his wife, and making memories with the people he loved most. He was also a devoted fan of Georgia Tech and Mississippi State football and loved cheering on his teams. Carey had a special place in his heart for animals and rescued seven dachshunds over the years, reflecting the compassion he carried so naturally.

Carey will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the way he made people feel like family. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will be treasured always.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Tipper; his mother, Dale Bohannon (Archie); his brother, Chris Tipper (Jackie); his sister, Sarah Clark; his niece, Anna Claire Smurda (Carson); and his nephew, Christopher Tipper (Grace Weeks).

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Tipper, and his infant daughter, Kathryn Ann Tipper.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love Carey gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
