Callie "Judy" Jewell Woods

October 10, 1948 — May 4, 2024

Forest, MS

Callie Jewell "Judy" Withers Woods, 78, a resident of Forest, passed away
peacefully at her home surrounded by family on May 5, 2024. Visitation will
be held on Wednesday, May 8th at Goodhope Baptist Church from 1:00 to
2:00 P.M. Funeral services officiated by Bro. James McMillan and Bro.
Steve Robinson will begin at 2 P.M. Interment will take place at Goodhope
Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Judy was born October 10, 1945, to Jude and Loddie Withers in Leake
County. Judy met Tommy Woods while in high school, and they married on
August 6, 1962. Their union was soon blessed with their three children and
the family grew to the “tribe” of people who gathered in her home for all
holidays and most Sunday afternoon lunches.

Judy was the epitome of a great hostess, modeling how to serve the Lord
through providing physical nourishment for her family, friends, and pastors
of her church. Some of her happiest moments were spent hosting formal
bridal teas for each of the girls in the family. While she nourished her
growing family, Judy also developed a passion for growing the beautiful
flowers always seen in her greenhouse, potting shed, goldfish pond, and
exquisite flower beds. Judy also helped beautify her world as a member of
the Master Gardner’s Club and the Home Maker’s Club.

Faithful church attendance and service in the Lord’s church at Good Hope
was an integral aspect of rearing her family. She believed that serving God
meant serving others, so she combined her love of cooking with hosting the
visiting pastors during revival services and faithfully serving as treasurer of
the foreign mission fund. Until she retired, Judy’s kindness and grace were
assets in her job at Community Bank of Forest.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell Withers and Loddie Clotille
Allen Withers, as well as her brothers Billy Pat, Odis, and Ed Withers.

Mrs. Judy leaves behind her loving husband, Tommy Woods; a legacy of
three children: Ann Durham (Mike), Jeff Woods (Patricia), and Tammy Bell (Greg)
all of Forest, Ms. Nine grandchildren: Lacey Woods, Andy Woods, Stephen Woods,
John Woods (Brianna), John Cade Durham (Samantha), Michael Ann Durham, Kristi
Wade (Matt), Colton Bell, and Jocey Bell; and 14 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Colton Bell, Stephen, Andy, and Jon Woods,
and John Cade and Brody Durham.

Ott and Lee of Forest is honored to serve the Woods family during this difficult time.
