Buddy Earl Beebe

March 8, 1947 — May 20, 2025

Forest, MS

Buddy Beebe, 78, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy built on grit, love, and the kind of strength that can only be forged through a life well lived. Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home on Saturday from 10-12pm, with a graveside service following at Beebe Family Cemetery in Lake, Ms.

A Navy veteran who served with honor in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968, Buddy embodied the true spirit of a hard-working American. He worked as a welder in the service and after returning home and poured the same work ethic into every job as he did into the life he built from the ground up.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Harland Earl Beebe and Cornelia Allene Black Beebe; a daughter, Tonia Beebe; a step daughter, Angela Blue Jenkins; late wife, Patty Carol Sistrunk Beebe, and late wife, Linda Martin Beebe.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Hamil Beebe; daughter Brandy Rowell (Ryan); step daughter, Tina Ivy Thrash (Jimmy); step sons, Stephen Pierre and Joey Pierre (Sharon); grandchildren, Elijah Rowell, Abram Rowell, Kristine Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, and Ashten Pierre; sister, Fern Sloan, and brother Kent Beebe.

From a young age, Buddy dreamed of owning land and raising horses. It was a vision that stayed with him through war, hardship, and heartbreak. Despite the obstacles life threw his way, he made that dream a reality. His first horse, Blaze, held a special place in his heart, and the bond they shared was something out of a cowboy story: full of trust, loyalty, and quiet understanding. Buddy was the kind of man who never let setbacks stop him; he lived life full throttle and seemed to brush off danger like dust on his boots. Family often joked that he had nine lives, having survived more than his fair share of close calls and wild tales.

Buddy didn’t just believe in hard work, he lived it and expected the same from those around him, including his daughters, whom he proudly raised to work like men. He taught them how to bale hay, care for animals, and tackle farm life head-on, never sparing them from the grit and sweat of it all. His lessons were tough, but they came from a place of deep love and respect, and his daughters carry that legacy of resilience and work ethic with pride.

His fearless nature extended to the saddle, too. Even well into his sixties, Buddy was still breaking horses. When one of his daughters had a particularly difficult horse named Booger, a nervous, bucking stud that had a habit of flipping over backward, Buddy didn’t hesitate. He’d throw a leg over, not just to help calm the animal, but because he relished the challenge. With uncanny timing, he somehow always managed to get himself clear before Booger hit the ground. Whether it was bravery, stubbornness, or just pure instinct, Buddy never showed fear, especially not in front of his girls.

He loved old country music and loved to get on the dancefloor; he truly was the life of the party when he wanted to be. A daredevil at heart, he lived for adrenaline and adventure, always chasing the next thrill with a gleam in his eye. Buddy Beebe lived with purpose and passion. He was a man’s man, a family man, and an American to the core, one who truly made the most of every ride this life had to offer.
