Billie Hales

Billie Jean Lea Hales, age 81, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023.  A celebration of Billie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon.

Billie was born in Jackson, MS on April 5, 1942, to William and Ella Lea.  She graduated from Byram High School, retired from Delta Airlines, enjoyed traveling, and loved being with her grandchildren.

Billie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Hales and Larry Chapman, son, James Todd Hales, grandchildren, Emily and Robert McNeill, Olivia Leigh Hales, James Gavin Hales, Vivian Leigh Hales, Bart and Sabrina Chapman, and great-grandchildren Isabella Chapman and Izzy Jones, siblings Sylvia Lea Carr, Howard Lea, Barbara Lea and Robert Fry, Rusty and Tommie Lea, her beloved puppy, “Jasper”, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Billy Gene Hales, her parents, Howard and Ella Lea, and sister Jane Lea Marshall.
