Bette Copeland

Elizabeth Jean (“Bette”) Zimmerman Reynolds Copeland (née Bernhardt) passed away on the morning of Monday, October 19, 2020, at the age of 78 in Brandon, Mississippi.  Bette was born on May 8, 1942, in Sterling, Colorado.  Her parents, siblings, and husbands preceded her in death.

She met her first love, George Albert (“Mickey”) Reynolds, in Nebraska and married him in 1959.  They soon moved to the South, living in Louisiana and Mississippi.  Bette and Mickey shared a life filled with joviality and gave this world three wonderful children who survive them: Marty Reynolds, Cindi Ponds, and Shannon Reynolds.  Bette’s husband Mickey preceded her in death in 1976, and she later brought this world a fourth surviving child, the loving Jackie Berl.

In 1988, Bette married the late Willie Perry Copeland, who preceded her in death in 2008.  Bette has four surviving grandchildren: Justin Ponds, Noah Berl, Hunter Berl, and Abby Berl; and one great-grandchild: Alex May.

Her family and friends remember her for the laughter and love she unabashedly shared.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with visitation starting at 12:00 PM prior.
